Jac Douven, Neerpelt 1908. Post Impressionist painter of the Campine landscape with
distant horizons. He found his inspiration mainly in the Campine landscape, the moorland,
forests, ponds etc. and wandered regularly painting in Flanders, the Ardennes, in southern
France, Spain and Italy. Artistic training at the Sint-Lucas Brussels and from Charles Wellens and especially Armand Maclot.
Admirer of Brother Max. Founder of the Art Society Heikracht (1929). Experiments in the 50s with abstraction.
