Description
Ernest Albert is a Belgian artist who was born in 1900 in Berchem/Antwerp and died in 1976 in Kalmthout. He was a painter, draftsman, watercolorist and gouachist. Educated at the Academy in Antwerp under Van Der Veken (1912-1918), at the Higher Institute in Antwerp under F. Courtens (1918-1922). Realized portraits, nudes, still lifes, landscapes, marines, cityscapes. After having made a series of Scheldt views, under the influence of F. Hens, he showed a greater sense of impressionistic color analysis around 1927; then he builds constructions with areas of color.
