Edmond DE MEULENAERE
Brussels 1884 - Uccle 1963. Post-impressionist painter, drawer, lithographer and engraver of landscapes. Artistic training at the Academy of Brussels. During World War I he made a lot of war scenes in a realistic style. In 1916, he participates in the Salon des Armeées (Paris)
and in the ‘Belgische Standaard’ (De Panne). In 1924, he publishes a lithographic war album.
Later he mainly painted marines, landscapes and flowers. Paints with a short and nervous
touch. His war drawings are in the possession of the city of Uccle.
